Kawa-Kawa Hill is located in Ligao City, province of Albay, Bicol Region.
We passed by Kawa-Kawa Hill on our way to CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC).
Kawa-Kawa Hill is sometimes described as a hill without a hilltop. Its name comes from the word “kawa” translated means cauldron, which is the same shape as a crater on top of the hill.
The Carmelite nuns put up a monestary and built a life-sized Stations of the Cross in the area. Construction was ongoing when we visited. Today, devotees and tourists find their way to Kawa-Kawa during the Lenten season.
The area was developed into a tourist destination by the city government of Ligao.Tags: Albay, Bicol, Kawa-Kawa Hill, Ligao
